This tour is a day trip to all our hand-picked sites of this famous area of Iceland. This celebrated area is rich with history and boasts powerful waterfalls, geothermal hot pools, erupting geysers, separating continental plates, as well as delicious food. All on Reykjavík’s doorstep!
Start the day off with a short stop at the colourful Kerið Crater, where you get to walk along the edge of a volcanic crater, created thousands of years ago. Then we are off to see some famous sights within the Golden Circle. The mighty Gullfoss waterfall, and the erupting geyser at the geothermal area of Geysir. Then we’ll head to Friðheimar Tomato Farm for lunch, where we eat from their delicious tomato inspired menu right inside the greenhouse among all the plants. It’s a truly unique and fantastic experience. Friðheimar is also an Icelandic horse breeding farm, so you will also get a chance to meet these photogenic horses. After lunch, it’s off to the last stop of the day, one of Iceland’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Þingvellir National Park. It was here that the first parliament in Iceland took place, located in the rift zone of where the tectonic plates are pulling apart. This is a perfect place for some easy walks through beautiful nature. You will be back in Reykjavík in the late afternoon.
